04 NCAC 12F .0106 TIMETABLE AND TRAINING FOR THE SHOWCASE
(a) With the information gathered from homeowners, homebuilders, vo‑tech schools and local coordinators, the ED/AEC will establish a general timetable for open houses in each county. Every attempt will be made to schedule adjacent counties and regions at the same time to minimize staff travel and to take advantage of regional communication networks.
(b) Once a general timetable has been established, regional workshops will be held for local coordinators, showcase participants and for individuals who will be showing showcase homes. The ED/AEC will arrange details of the showcase at this time including, but not limited to:
(1) exact scheduling;
(2) promotion;
(3) parking arrangements;
(4) insurance agreements;
(5) information packages; and
(6) scheduling of special group tours for target groups.
(c) Local coordinators will be responsible for arranging to have someone thoroughly familiar with the energy efficient solar features of the showcase home to act as a guide at its open house. Local coordinators will encourage the homeowner to show an existing showcase home, the homebuilder or realtor of his choice to show a new showcase home, and a building trades instructor to show a vo‑tech constructed showcase home. These open house guides will be trained in solar principles as needed at the regional workshops.
